Cal Academy

Today was very rainy and windy so we decided to go to the California Academy of Science.  It just opened recently and got rave reviews so we thought we'd check it out.  They have a four story rainforest that you walk through.  Each floor represents the actual four layers of a real rainforest.  And you also travel through Borneo, Madagascar, and Costa Rica as you're walking through.  After going through this you end up in a big aquarium.  This was probably Brayden's favorite.  He climbed up and just stared through the large tanks at all the fish swimming by.  There was also a tide pool area where he could touch the different sea creatures and so forth.  The last area we visited was the African exhibit.  It was here that Brayden joined in with some other children on this light up floor to stomp on the "bugs" that are scurrying across it.  After observing the other kids for a minute he realized all he needed to do was stomp his feet and then he didn't want to leave. He even got right back up after a big 4 year old kid deliberately pushed him over.   Unfortunately all the planetarium shows were sold out for the day.  Apparently Saturday's, and rainy ones at that, are not the days to visit.

Cute as always! That sounds like lots of fun! I guess I need to start thinking about taking Nico to those places. But rainy todays are few and far between here as you know!
