Lassen Volcanic National Park

We visited Lassen Volcanic National Park today which is in northeast California. We experienced a vast change in temperature throughout the day. Leaving San Francisco it was only 57 degrees. An hour outside of the park it was 102 degrees and once in the park it was
a pleasant 80 degrees (even though there was lots of snow in places.) No hiking on this trip
since Brayden was along and the trails didn't start up right off the road. And if you wanted to
see the volcano's peak, it was a 2 1/2 strenuous hike straight up hill. But we made lots of stops and had a great day.
Sulfur Springs. Stinky!

First time playing in snow! Perfect for making snowballs.
(It was still 80 degrees out though.)

Summit Lake. No snow here!

Brayden took his socks and shoes off and got into the water
to splash around.

Kings Creek

Brayden was looking for bear prints all day and was
so excited when he found this "bear cave."

Lake Helen. You can see some turquoise water poking through
the ice.

Big boulder at Bump Pass Hell.
