Birthday Celebrations

To celebrate all of our birthdays we headed off to Happy Hollow Park in San Jose. It's a small amusement park/zoo. Pefect for kids under age 7. It was a warm, sunny day and Brayden and Pierce had a great time. Below are some pictures in the farm petting area and Brayden on some of the rides.

Notice anything different about Pierce? We gave him his
first haircut. No more mohawk!

After the park we headed back up the bay to a town called Pleasonton. It's a very quaint little town with a great main street full of restaurants and shops. This old house below was converted into a restaurant and the people all dine out on the front lawn in nice weather. We didn't eat here but rather opted for some authentic Mexican food at a cantina. Enjoyed some good chips, salsa, & margaritas.

Then it was off to Walnut Creek to visit the San Francisco Creamery. It's an ice cream parlor that we first saw on Man vs. Food on the Food Network channel. They have a challenge called the kitchen sink. If you can finish 8 softball sized scoops of ice cream with all the toppings in under 30 minutes then you get free ice cream for a year. We walked in just a few minutes too late to witness somebody attempting to do it. Perhaps it was a good thing because the waiter told us that the ice cream ended up all over the table if you know what I mean!

3 scoops of vanilla topped with carmel and butterscotch,
sprinkles & banana

cookie dough topped with hot fudge
(this is the small size!)
