There was a little bit of excitement today on the Golden Gate Bridge. Three protestors climbed up the cables and hung signs and the Tibetan flag. They actually climbed up carrying suitcases which held their stuff. They were up there for three hours before coming down. One lane of traffic was closed down as well as the sidewalk. The sidewalk is to remain closed now until the running of the Olympic torch is finished here on Wednesday. In addition, the Chinese Consulate is under 24 hour guard. We live very close to many of the Consulates (the Italian one is right around the corner from us) but luckily not the Chinese one. Every police officer in San Francisco will be on duty on Wednesday in hopes that a repeat of what happened in Paris today doesn't reoccur here.
